Outside of umpiring, what do you do for a living?
"Retired Army Veteran currently working as an Equipment Specialist for the US Coast Guard in Curtis Bay."
When and where did you begin umpiring?
"I first started out in 1990 as an intramural basketball referee at Appalachian State University."
In what year did you join Harford County Umpires Association?
"I joined HCUA in 2011."
Where else have you umpired?
"I have refereed in Iraq, Germany, Fort Drum, NY, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD, and Appalachian State University
What's been your proudest achievement in umpiring?
"I think my proudest moment as an umpire working 15-innings of baseball behind the plate almost 4 hours in a semi-final game. No complaints from either team.
Funniest Heckle you've ever heard while umpiring?
"Hey Blue, you are missing a good game.”
Do you have a goal that you are hoping to achieve this year?
"My goal this year improve baseball knowledge and mechanics."
What's the best advice you would give to a new umpire?
"Be Consistent and have fun! Treat every game like it is the World Series…because to every player playing, it is the most important game they are playing, and they deserve the best referee or umpire."
